Integrating your dimensioning system with your warehouse management system (WMS) transforms package measurement from an isolated data capture into a live operational signal. Packizon’s Dim L1 integrates directly with leading WMS platforms via REST API, webhooks, and direct database connectors — sending certified dimensions, weights, and package photos in real time as packages are measured.
Why WMS Integration Matters
A dimensioning system that doesn’t feed your WMS creates a data silo. Operators must manually transcribe measurements, carrier labels may be generated with declared dimensions rather than measured dimensions, and there’s no automatic connection between measurement records and shipment records for audit purposes. With direct WMS integration, dimensions flow automatically from the Dim L1 to your WMS for carrier rate shopping, label generation, and billing.
Integration Architecture
REST API Integration: The Dim L1 exposes a REST API that allows your WMS to query measurement results in real time. When a package is measured, the result (L, W, H, weight, photo URL, timestamp) is immediately available via GET request to the Dim L1’s local API endpoint.
Webhook Push Integration: For WMS platforms that prefer push-based data flow, the Dim L1 can POST measurement results to a configured webhook URL immediately after each measurement cycle. This enables event-driven workflows where the WMS triggers downstream actions (label generation, sortation routing, manifest update) automatically.
Direct Database Write: For legacy WMS platforms without API layers, the Dim L1 supports direct database write — inserting measurement records directly into the WMS shipment or order table. This approach requires a one-time schema mapping during implementation.
Barcode / Scan-Trigger Integration: The most common pattern uses a barcode scan trigger: the operator scans the package tracking barcode at the dimensioning station, the Dim L1 captures dimensions and associates the measurement record with the tracking number, and the WMS retrieves the measurement by tracking number.

Implementation Timeline
Most Dim L1 WMS integrations complete in 1–5 business days. Packizon’s integration team provides an onboarding guide, sample API payloads, and live support. For common WMS platforms, pre-built connectors reduce implementation time to under 4 hours. Supported platforms include Manhattan Associates, Blue Yonder, Oracle WMS Cloud, SAP EWM, HighJump, 3PL Central, ShipBob, and Extensiv.
